About The Flute Maker, Brad Young
Brad Young and Wife, Debbie.
After learning many aspects of my his life and finding his own path on Mother Earth, Brad Young wanted to have a skill that could be passed on to his grandson.
"I hope you find my flutes worthy of playing because the spirit within the wood is found here. I am a simple flutemaker and the obsession I have for making flutes runs deep. I have never been consumed by anything like this before."
The flutes Mr. Young craft range from 3/8" in bore up to 1-5/8" bore. The wood selection is pretty much unlimited depends on what's available at the time, his sources are pretty good. There are many people that played an influential and important role in his journey . Recently spending several days with his good friend and teacher, Barry Higgins from Whitecrow Flutes, he is now going to make a few rim blown flutes to expand his knowledge base a bit.
A special thanks to Leonard McGann who is consider a brother and teacher for his flutemaking tips and to a very good friend Charley Grey Wolf for his music and knowledge of the flute history.
Please check back often as Mr. Young is really working hard to produce great sound quality and beauty within the wood I chose for each flute. If you would like, Mr. Young will make a flute with your specifications in mind. A flute is a personal journey and it must fit your needs and meet with your visions. Though these flutes sell rather quickly, if you see something you like here please inquire as it may still be available.
Mr. Young also frequents Paltalk, a small chatroom-based program where he likes to share some music and flutes. You can find him under the nickname "flutemaker".
